Presenting

Visual Strategies Applied to Jury Trials

Dan Winter is a graphic designer specializing in legal trial consulting. He leads Chicago Winter Company LLC that focuses on shaping challenging content into clear and memorable visual presentations for jury trials.

His presentation will demonstrate the underpinnings of visual strategies at work in legal case studies. Dan will present a set of principles from literature and experience that has produced positive results for his clients.

Summary

When a corporation’s defense team faces a jury, the goal: a verdict that saves their client money. When a defense team represents someone they believe is wrongfully imprisoned, the goal: a verdict that restores their client’s life. The presentation strategies deployed by both teams are the same. The main component strategies are legal, verbal and visual, and the team consists of trial lawyers, jury consultants and specialized graphic designers. We review case examples that demonstrate a visual strategy at work, also the underpinnings of that strategy: a set of principles from literature and experience that tend to produce positive results.
