Summary

Brand Designer & Strategist, Renee Innis, presents Where We Land a design project that explores her German ancestry, their 270-year journey through the Americas to their present day farm in Kansas, and the lands that were appropriated from Indigenous peoples along the way.

Renee Innis is a branding and design strategist, communications director, and event producer. She is the Design and Communications Manager at the Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI) and Co-Owner of Rinse Design, a local design studio that delivers strategy, branding, and communications for businesses and organizations driving social impact. In 2015, she co-founded and launched The Design Corps of Santa Fe to make visible the role of leading communication professionals in the community, and to promote the value of design as a catalyst for change. 

Renee is a graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and moved to Santa Fe in 2005 after working as an independent designer, branding consultant, and event producer for over 10 years in the Bay Area. 

Rinse Design’s branding projects span from San Francisco’s International Art Fair, FOG, to award-winning Kansas City restaurants, Justus Drugstore and Black Dirt, to local brands such as Verde, Horizons Sustainable Financial Services, New Mexico Health Equity Partnership, and UpSpring Associates. Renee was the Senior Designer for the ReBrand 100 Award Winner, Lovelace Health System Campaign, at Kilmer Kilmer Marshall Duran in Albuquerque and held the Art Director position at Cisneros Design in Santa Fe for 6 years. 

She has collaborated on such projects as the Immigration Impact Project, a partnership with the Santa Fe Dreamers, Design Corps of Santa Fe, and SFAI, and the inaugural SFAI Works by providing Design Corps’ professional expertise to entrepreneurs. 

She has been participating in, producing, and designing for events since 1999, including The San Francisco International Film Festival, the NFL Pro Bowl, and FOG Design+Art International Fair, and most recently, the 2018 and 2019 Art of Change events for SFAI.
